In this very stressful and challenging time of Covid-19 it is very important to keep in touch with your family members, friends and colleagues. Even tho we all focus on our physical health right now, we have to remember the importance of our mental wellbeing and wellbeing of our loved ones.
You might not be able to see your family or friends face-to-face but there are so many ways you can still check on each others without breaking any rules of self isolation and social distancing. Having a family group chat or making a video call with friends, family or colleagues is a great way how to start a conversation or simply let them know you are there to listen.
Remember, you don’t have to be an expert in mental health to help somebody in this very confusing time. If somebody tries to open up to you, remember you don’t have to fix anything or give an advice, simply listening and being there shows that you are interested and ready to support them through this time.
Asking twice and listening with interest can encourage somebody to really open up and explore what they are really feeling.
